DELS FOUNDATION

DELS FOUNDATION was founded in July 2013 as a community-based organization and was finally registered on February 13, 2014, with the registrar generals department of Ghana to operate as a Non-Governmental Organization with the aspiration to fill in the gap by empowering women and girls through skills acquisition, advocacy and education on Reproductive health rights, and also impact poverty reduction and socio-economic development by harnessing the potentials of the youth through mentoring programs as well as support needy children in and the aged in slum and deprived communities.

Women Empowerment

Dels foundation seeks to improve gender equality and empower women, economically, and socio-culturally. Through combined efforts with local community groups, we work with local women and girls to provide social care and support, foster confidence and promote agency, improve female health and wellness, and empower young women to challenge traditional gender disparities. Our work also includes providing skills-related training to rural women.

Grants Management

How we manage the funds we receive is very important to us, not just for accountability and building of trust with our donors and partners but more importantly because of our calling to respond to the need of the most vulnerable. Therefor one of our top priorities is is to be the trusted partners of choice in the humanitarian sector and leverage our financial resources for a positive and lasting impact.

Education

Dels Foundation is dedicated to improving the quality of life of children in Ghana through education. We believe education is the key to the fundamental transformation of communities toward a prosperous future and a more just society. We provide support to underprivileged children who, without us, would likely be out of the educational system altogether through our scholarship schemes.

Social protection

Dels foundation provides various forms of social protection support to the less privileged and the vulnerable in the rural communities where our help is needed most. Our social protection activities are designed in a way to help reduce inequalities, build resilience, and end the inter-generational cycle of poverty. In 2021, we provided financial support to about 80 households within the central region to help relieve them of the adverse challenges they faced as a result of covid-19.

Partnerships

Dels foundation has been in operation through the support of individual donors and institutional partners and supporters. Our partnerships with Global giving, Send Ghana, Girl rising and many other international organization have helped us expand our reach to create more impact.

OUR PARTNERS

Adolescent capacity building

Dels foundation continues to design programs and interventions that empower both boys and girls to enable them reach their full potential. Our services include counseling, awareness creation, mentoring of pregnant and adolescent mothers, and distribution of behavior change messages. Through our pride of being a girl project, we were able to provide mentorship training for over 2200 adolescent girls in the Central Region of Ghana.
