As part of their contribution to sustainable peace before during and after Ghana’s elections, Dels foundation and its Youth for Peace Team as well as its peace Ambassadors and volunteers celebrated a peace initiative dubbed Charity Fest for Peace 2017(YFPW 2017)
Charity Fest for Peace 2017 is a youth-created and youth-led initiative aimed at celebrating International Peace as well as International volunteers Day with the aim to promote a fair and peaceful society. 2017 was used as an opportunity to raise funds in support less Privilege children and the aged come 26th and 27th December 2017 during its Feast for Hope
The theme for the celebration was “Together for peace: Respect, Safety and dignity for all” Speaking on the theme the Director of Dels Foundation, Comfort Glikpo Boa-Amponsem emphasized the need to support less privilege children and the aged at all times since they are much often neglected. To this effect they gave out a few gift boxes to some of these children as a token of their support
Feast for Hope is an annual Christmas project which seeks to support the less privilege children and the aged
At Christmas Dels foundation usually go to deprived communities, orphanage homes and spend quality time with the children as well as give them toys, books, food etc. They provide children up to the age of 12 with toys and books, clothing, shoes etc.
They also give out packed food and water to the mentally, physically challenged on the streets as well as donate to charity homes or orphanages
Dels foundation remains incredibly grateful to all their supporters throughout the region who organize collections or simply add an extra item to their own shopping trolley in the run up to Christmas. Local companies and manufacturers also make donations of goods and raise funds to help us meet the ever increasing numbers referred to us each Christmas for help.
This year God willing we intend to add health screening for the aged in the veteran Association of Ghana
The fund rising was done around the new market and the Kasoa Market after which volunteers were treated to a peace feast on a reflection of the theme, a short peace carnival a speech and performances at Pats Catering services Kasoa – Ofaakor ,Richmens gym.
We would like to use this opportunity to thank our participants, volunteers and supporters who donated and are still donating to support Feast of Hope 2017
